Membership Information

		The Board carefully reviews membership candidates for their knowledge and experience and for their commitment to ethical practices within the profession. Persons eligible are reputable professionals established for a minimum of three years and actively engaged in the purchase, sale and /or study of antiques. Eligible are shop, show, internet and catalog antiques dealers, antiques show managers, auctioneers and appraisers of antiques, authors, educators, museums professionals, conservators and retired antiques dealers.
		Only those who have met the high standard of AADA membership may display the official insignia and our slogan "Buy With Confidence", a herald of that integrity demonstrated by AADA members. Unlabeled reproductions, deliberate misrepresentations and fraudulent dealings are threats to the antiques profession. Such negative practices must be countered through the mutual efforts of professionals, displaying authentic, high quality merchandise.

		Quality of dealer's stock is of paramount importance to AADA, rather than type or amount presented. The AADA dealer is recognized as a specialist within distinct categories and is expected to be knowledgeable as to the historical and cultural significance of their inventory. Thus, the dealer assumes the responsible role of educator and in broader sense, performs a substantial public service in the preservation of antiques.

		AADA members are expected, in their shops and at shows, to tag and price their merchandise clearly, provide customers with receipts and with the promise of a refund if the merchandise is not found to be as represented. They attempt to promote the dignity of the antiques profession. If you feel that you qualify for membership, then please fill out the online application form and submit it to AADA.
